"Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today.
That's right, woodchuck-chuckers - it's...
[in unison] GROUNDHOG DAY!"
Another Murray vehicle and my favourite film, from the master - the late Harold Ramis, with Andie McDowell. 'Misanthropic TV weatherman/broadcaster, Phil Connors, is annoyed and despondent when he's assigned the job of covering the annual Groundhog festivities in the small "Hick" town of Punxsutawney - making this his fourth in a row. The only noticeable upside is his attractive and good-natured producer. But the real nightmare begins when Phil ends up reliving the same day (Groundhog Day) over, and over again. Unable to leave the town due to a severe blizzard, and with no end in sight, Phil struggles to find a way to escape (and ultimately make the best of) his seemingly hopeless situation.'

I love this film, from the moment I saw this film. I ws allready a fan of Murray because of Ghostbusters (1984) and this other film I had seen called Quick Change. I think this (And Scrooged) also cemented my love for Bill Murray films. Personally I like the stages he goes through - wierdness/not understanding, happiness, sadness, depression, then abusing it to his advantage before trying to become a better person. There's some gret support from Andie McDowell too. It's hard not to love the Ned (Ryerson! Needle nose Ned? Ned the head! Know don't you say you don't remember me cos I sure as heckfire remember you!)
So do you love or hate this film?
"And watch put for that first step, it's a doozy!"
