Whilist I'll see it eventually, I'm not gonna rush to the cinema to see it, however, I was looking at the casting and aside from Patterson, it's got some pretty interesting other casting.
I don't know much about the guy playing the riddler or the woman playing Catwoman other than she is apparently Lenny Kravits' daughter. However, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Jeffrey Wright who started as Felix in the Craig James Bond films that's pretty interesting. I do think Wright is a good actor too. I kept saying to myself who's playing perguin though? As I read Colin Farrell as Oz, I thought who the hell is Oz? Took me a second to realize Oz = Oswald Cobblepot. Then it was like that's Colin Farrell underneath all that make-up?! That's pretty wild and I would've never have guessed!
What do you think of the casting? Have you seen The Batman yet? Whilst I initially though "Not another Batman film, origins probablly yet again", now it's got me slightly interested because of the casting.

So I finally saw it last night and I really liked it!
Looking on IMDb it's got a good rating but most reviews trash it. Probably edgy teenagers mostly complaining about the film length and being "boring". It is a long film but clearly they don't get it. This is only year 2 for Batman, early Batman. He doesn't have the "Hope" for Gotham yet and what it could be just Vengence at this point. What little we see of Bruce Wayne again isn't this billionaire playboy we're used to, he hasn't got there yet. He's just been living mostly in solitude at the mansion with Alfred, not playboy tendencies, no big charitable benefits, he hasn't become that Bruce Wayne yet.
Some actors make a good Batman but poor Bruce Wayne, or vice versa. With so little bruce wayne it would be unfair to judge Patterson as Wayne but I think he makes a good Batman. Jeffrey Wright (Felix in the Daniel Craig Bond films) makes for a good Gordon as does newcomber Zoe Kravitz as Catwooman. Love the supered up muscle car for the batmobile. Gotham is dirty, full of litter, crime and anarchy, I think they got it spot on. The whole film has that morose, grim film, it does feel like a real stripped down Batman.

I don't see nearly enough new(ish) movies. This probably isn't one I would see anyway, really have no interest in seeing Pattinson in anything, especially seeing him as Batman. I'm glad you liked it, but I'll pass.

Understandable.
For me, it's been so long since those awful twilight films, I was prepared to give him a go despite my own skepticism.

I was skeptical of this newest version of Batman but finally pulled the trigger and watched it and I must say, I quite enjoyed it.
Not only was it different and refreshing but it was also probably my favorite Batman movie since Batman 1989.

Not only was it different and refreshing but it was also probably my favorite Batman movie since Batman 1989. I agree, it really was just a no-nonsense Batman film. The scene on the train station, the chase scene with the penguin. I think I might try and watch it again soon myself!

I have watched this latest Batman movie and it was super cool. The suit was incredible and had all details. Even though the character wasn't by favorite Batman character, he did exceptionally well. Bane is my favourite guy.

I loved the movie but I definitely won't deny I was disappointed with The Penguin. I love The Penguin but their version of him wasn't that great. I would have thought it would have been better considering he was played by the amazing Colin Farrell. The soundtrack also didn't come close enough to Hans Zimmer's soundtracks for the The Dark Knight trilogy. Pattison was a great choice as Bruce/Batman though.
