Bueller... Bueller, Bueller....
Today is the day in the film that the events take place and what no better time to make this thread! A high schools student is determined to have the day off school despite the prinicple and hatches an elaborate plan, roping in his best friend and also his girlfriend fo the ultimate day off!
One of my favourite scenes is the initial phonecall to the prinicipal, but it has been a while since I watched it so over this weekend I will be trying to find time to watch it again like I did with The Breakfast Club.

Ba Ba...chica chigaaa. The music was awesome and fit the scenes so well! I grew up near Chicago and went to art school there so it was exciting seeing some of the places I knew in the film.

Wasn't the school also the same one used for The Breakfast Club? Last time I looked on Google Maps it doesn't seemed to have changed much either!
Also special mention to "Grace" the school secretary played by Edie McClurg who was also great in Films like Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark and many guest roles in many, many TV shows of calibre.

She's really funny in Planes, Trains and Automobiles, though she's only in it for a short while. Really liked her character in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. One of my favorite movies. Seemed like John Hughes could do no wrong at the time.

I loved this movie when I was growing up. They had some catchy tunes. While it was an exaggerated movie, it was fun. They don't make movies or tv shows for just entertainment anymore.

The film was on the other day, missed most of it but it got me thinking - I wonder in theatres if everyone stayed until the very end of the credits.. Throughout the whole end creadits we have principal Ed Rooney hobbling home in his tattered clothes, but I wonder if people stayed for the very end and saw that Last Ferris scene. "Are you still here?, go on go!" "Save Ferris Beuler!"

The girl on the bus that gives Rooney the gummy bear is awesome, lol.
“Gummy bear? It’s been in my pocket; they’re real warm and soft.”
Great movie all around.

Believe it or not I first watched this movie in SCHOOL during a 2 hour delayed class. It's a funny film that I'd stop and watch whenever it's on TV.
